As part of the re-development of Leeds University Union a new bar and theatre space was created. This required a brand, one that fit within the new LUU brand structure, but also challenged Leeds’ high street offering. The bar and theatre are a linked space with a focus of looking at the ‘grassroots’ of student performance, therefore the brand was to reflect a more young, playful and gritty aesthetic across the whole venue.

The canteen space and theatre space are linked in design, with the theatre space looking at the ‘grassroots’ side of student performance it will have a young, playful and gritty vibe. The space feels quite eccentric and student owned, it has a noticeable connection to our students who belong to performance groups.

The canteen space is a friendly and relaxed environment that serves simple food and drink to a high standard but with a playful twist, it’s great value for money and appeals to a wide range of customers.
